In dentistry, pain control would revolve around optimal use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and acetaminophen. However, there are still circumstances where opioids are believed to be necessary. This session is designed to use case examples to help illustrate the appropriate way of managing opioid prescription in order to minimize abuse. Root Resorption: An overview of the most common presentations and treatment strategiesCredits: 1.5
Cost: Free
Time: 8:00 PM ET
In speaking with my colleagues and addressing what situations are increasingly seen in my office and theirs, at the top of the list is root resorption. Root resorption has many different presentations with even more treatment options and prognoses. This webinar will provide the clinician with a concise strategy for identification, treatment, and most importantly prognostic conversations with our patients. Whether you have been practicing for 5 or 25 years, the increase in the number of resorption cases seen in our offices is truly undeniable. We have to be prepared to address short term and long term treatment concerns. Most often the patient presents completely asymptomatic. This leaves the patient and the clinician dumbfounded when it is finally discovered. If this is a long term patient, the conversation can be even more uncomfortable. Also if you’ve been unlucky enough to begin excavation of a “carious” lesion and then suddenly have what appears to be a very shallow “pulp exposure” this webinar is for you. If this has never happened to you then consider yourself lucky and watch this webinar to get avoid getting into this situation.
Course Objectives – Overview of the different types and presentations of root resorption – Clinical and radiographic methods for proper classification – Treatment options and prognosis of root resorption – Discussing and problem solving resorption with patients Advanced imaging modalities and a shift in treatment recommendations have left most providers in the dark. Knowing how to identify and classify resorption is paramount in treating (or not treating) these lesions. Attending this webinar will ensure you are prepared for the next time you are dealing with root resorption…trust me it’ll be sooner than you think! |
